Andrew Garfield Teases His Return in Avengers: Secret Wars

The question of whether Andrew Garfield will return as his version of the Spider-Man for Avengers: Secret Wars remains one of the most persistent topics among Marvel fans.

When recently pressed about the possibility, the actor gave a playful but noncommittal answer that only served to fuel further speculation.

Garfield was asked directly about reprising his role for the massive conclusion to the Multiverse Saga. He responded with the classic evasive line, “You will find out!”

The Art of the Non-Answer

The actor followed his standard denial by acknowledging the futility of trying to get a straight answer out of him, saying: “Whatever my answer is, is it going to be exasperation? Is it? I don’t know. You will find out.”

Garfield’s response is a humorous nod to the intense secrecy surrounding major Marvel projects and his own history of denying his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home – a denial that was famously proven false.

This history makes his current vague response less of a definitive “no” and more of a confirmation that negotiations are likely ongoing, or that he is simply contractually forbidden from saying anything.

The Multiverse Saga, which will culminate in Avengers: Secret Wars, is expected to feature a massive collection of legacy characters and variants from across the film history of Marvel.

Following the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in No Way Home, most fans believe it is an inevitability that both actors will once again join the fight against Doctor Doom.

Do you think Andrew Garfield is just trying to protect the secret, or do you believe this is a genuine sign that he is still deciding whether to return for Avengers: Secret Wars?
