Avengers 5: Cyclops to Shine in the First Trailer of Doomsday
Cyclops, played by James Marsden, is reportedly returning in Avengers: Doomsday — and rumor has it, he’ll take center stage in the first trailer.

Well, this is wild — Cyclops is officially returning to the big screen in Avengers: Doomsday! Yep, James Marsden is back as Scott Summers, and insiders claim his comeback will be even more redemptive than Wolverine’s. Fans are calling this one of the biggest surprises from the now-famous “cast chair reveal” livestream for Doomsday, and honestly, they’re not wrong.
The last time Marsden suited up as Cyclops was way back in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014). Over a decade later, he’s finally stepping back into the visor — and word is, this time he’ll be wearing a suit straight out of the comics. Think bright colors, bold design — the same kind of faithful upgrade that Wolverine got in Deadpool & Wolverine.
A True X-Men Leader at Last
For years, Cyclops was often sidelined in the Fox-era films, but Avengers 5 might finally give him the spotlight he deserves. This version of Scott is said to take command like a true leader of the X-Men — confident, strategic, and front and center in the fight against Doctor Doom.
It looks like Marvel’s wasting no time making that message clear — starting right from the first trailer.
Cyclops to Star in the First Doomsday Trailer?
According to YouTuber Kristian Harloff, Cyclops and the “Summers family” will be heavily featured in the Doomsday teaser trailer, which is expected to drop next month. Interestingly, Harloff also mentioned that Marvel is currently testing multiple versions of the trailer — each focusing on slightly different elements of the story.
At least one of those versions reportedly puts Scott Summers in the spotlight, making him the emotional and visual core of the teaser. That’s a bold move — and one that could set the tone for Cyclops as one of the main heroes leading the charge against Doctor Doom.
Just a Rumor… For Now
Of course, none of this has been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios. For now, it’s all in the “strong rumor” category. But with the Multiverse saga pulling together characters from every corner of Marvel history, seeing Cyclops return — and possibly take a lead role — doesn’t sound far-fetched at all.
If this rumor pans out, Avengers: Doomsday could finally give James Marsden’s Cyclops the big-screen respect fans have been waiting for. And let’s be honest — it’s about time Scott Summers got his due.
