Avengers: Doomsday – Ant-Man Will Be a Fan of One Character in the Movie

Just as he was a fan of Captain America in Civil War, Scott Lang’s Ant-Man will be a fan of one other character in Avengers: Doomsday.

If there is one thing Scott Lang, Ant-Man, knows how to do well, besides shrinking and growing giant, it is representing us, the fans, inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Who doesn’t remember the iconic scene in Captain America: Civil War, when he meets Steve Rogers for the first time and is completely starstruck, squeezing Captain America’s muscles?

Well then, it seems that history is about to repeat itself in Avengers: Doctor Doom, but with a new target for Scott’s admiration.

According to recent information released by insider MyTimeToShineHello (via MCU Film News), Paul Rudd’s character will have a new heroic obsession in Marvel’s next big event. This time, Ant-Man will be a huge fan of Shang-Chi, the Master of Kung Fu portrayed by Simu Liu.

What Is the Connection Between Shang-Chi and Ant-Man?

Although the exact origin of this admiration was not detailed in the leak, the pieces of the MCU puzzle fit together easily.

It is worth remembering that both Scott Lang and Shang-Chi reside in the city of San Francisco. It is very likely that, after the events of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the fighter’s feats (such as the bus battle or the dragon in Ta Lo) became local legends.

Scott, who is now a celebrity with his own book and podcast, certainly keeps up with the news of the heroic world. The idea of a neighbor who fights mystical martial arts and possesses powerful rings must have captivated the former ex-con.

The Comedic Duo We Needed

The prospect of seeing Paul Rudd and Simu Liu interacting is, at the very least, promising. Both actors have excellent comedic timing and portray characters who bring lightness to the screen.

In a film that promises to be dark and tense with the multiversal threat of Doctor Doom portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., having these Ant-Man “fanboy” moments serves as the necessary comic relief to balance the narrative.

If Scott was already nervous when meeting Captain America, just imagine the questions he will ask about the Ten Rings or about how Shang-Chi manages to fight without a technological suit.

This dynamic of “mutual respect and fangirling” can create one of the most entertaining friendships in the new Avengers lineup. After all, Shang-Chi certainly must know Ant-Man and also be a fan.
