Avengers: Doomsday Breaks Marvel’s Biggest Budget Record

According to a new rumor, Avengers: Doomsday could break the record to become the most expensive movie in Marvel's history in theaters.

Avengers: Doomsday Breaks Marvel's Biggest Budget Record

Marvel Studios seems to not be sparing a single penny to ensure that its next major saga recovers the absolute breath of the worldwide box office.

According to information revealed by insider John Campea during his program The John Campea Show, Avengers: Doomsday is officially on track to become the film with the highest budget in the studio’s history.

Will Avengers: Doomsday be more expensive than Avengers: Endgame?

Until now, the record for Marvel’s most expensive production belongs to the epic Avengers: Endgame, which had an estimated production cost of around 400 million dollars without counting marketing expenses.

However, the new feature film focused on the villain starred by Robert Downey Jr. should considerably surpass this historical mark. Consequently, these new details corroborate rumors that have been circulating for a few months told by insiders.

The estimate is that Marvel Studios has reserved an impressive amount of 1 billion dollars for the combined production of Avengers: Doomsday and its direct sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars.

Therefore, the individual budget of each movie should revolve around the 500 million dollar mark, establishing a completely new record for superhero blockbusters.

Marvel’s heavy investment for Avengers: Doomsday

There are several factors that justify this unprecedented investment. Besides the triumphant return of the Russo Brothers to the direction, the studio is disbursing astronomical amounts to guarantee the return of major stars.

Reports indicate that just Robert Downey Jr.’s salary to play Doctor Doom, added to the directing fees and box office bonuses, already consumes a gigantic slice of this budget before the movie has even started its filming.

Furthermore, the multiversal scale of the plot requires a level of visual effects and complex scenarios that elevate the post-production costs to the absolute heights.

Disney’s bet is completely clear: invest heavily in technical quality and the cast to create a cinematic event that is impossible to ignore, seeking to repeat the billion-dollar success achieved during Phase 3.

With Marvel betting so high on both movies, the pressure for a quality that matches the investment is immense. Therefore, we sincerely hope that this value is reflected in a truly epic experience on the big screens!
