Avengers: Doomsday – First Details Leak About Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man

New Avengers: Doomsday rumor brings disappointing update about Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man.

Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man will not appear in Avengers: Doomsday. The information comes from insider The Beyond Reporter and positions Tobey Maguire as the only alternate version of the hero in the film.

For those hoping to see Garfield back in the role after the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the news is disappointing.

But the story doesn’t end there.

What We Know So Far

Avengers: Doomsday is being treated as Marvel Studios’ most ambitious project when it comes to the Multiverse. The production will bring together characters from different franchises, including Fox’s X-Men and Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker.

Tobey’s involvement naturally reignited expectations that Garfield would be cast as well.

According to the insider, that’s the situation “for now.” Additional filming is scheduled for April, which leaves the door slightly open. Both Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland could still be added to the movie at that stage. Nothing is confirmed, but nothing has been completely ruled out either.

What makes this absence even more intriguing is the context. Garfield gained a renewed legion of fans after Spider-Man: No Way Home, released in 2021.

The film brought the three cinematic versions of Spider-Man together for the first time and became one of Marvel’s biggest hits. His performance was widely praised, and the demand for more appearances hasn’t slowed since.

Secret Wars Could Be the Path Forward

Even if Doomsday doesn’t include Garfield, several rumors point to his involvement in Avengers: Secret Wars, slated for 2027. It makes sense. The narrative scope of Secret Wars is expected to be even larger, and Marvel has shown interest in using the Multiverse progressively, expanding the ensemble as the films move forward.

The strategy appears to be one of careful pacing. Bringing all the Spider-Men together again in Doomsday might dilute each character’s impact. Saving Garfield for the next chapter could work as a narrative ace—something Marvel has done before by holding key cards for moments with greater dramatic weight.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026 (USA). Until then, April’s additional filming could still bring surprises. But anyone waiting for Andrew Garfield may need to set their sights a little further ahead.
