Avengers: Doomsday promises to be the Marvel film with the largest number of characters in history, with Spider-Man being one of the most anticipated heroes.

Last March, Marvel revealed most of the cast but excluded Tom Holland’s name from the official announcement. However, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, later confirmed that the reveal wasn’t complete and that more characters would appear in the movie.

Feige also said that there will be a new announcement revealing more characters, which fans believe will include not only Spider-Man but also Doctor Strange, Hulk, Captain Marvel, Deadpool, and others.

Avengers: Doomsday Makes a Drastic Change to Spider-Man’s Role!

For months, several rumors circulated about what Spider-Man’s role would be in the next Avengers film. Unfortunately, the latest news isn’t good.

According to insider Daniel Richtman, Spider-Man has been completely cut from Avengers: Doomsday and won’t appear in the movie at all. On the bright side, the source claims that he will have a major role in Avengers: Secret Wars, set to hit theaters in 2027.

It’s still unclear how the story will justify Spider-Man’s absence, but it’s easy to understand why Marvel couldn’t include him: Tom Holland’s busy schedule.

Why Marvel Decided to Leave Out Spider-Man!

Apparently, the production of Avengers: Doomsday couldn’t include Spider-Man due to scheduling conflicts with Tom Holland.

When filming for Avengers 5 began, Holland was already busy shooting director Christopher Nolan’s next project, Odyssey. Shortly after that, he started working on Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

So, while we might not see the hero in the next Avengers movie, fans can still look forward to his return in 2026 with his new solo film — which also promises to be epic.
