Avengers Secret Wars - Unusual Character Is Confirmed In The Film

With its highly anticipated filming starting in the coming months, Avengers: Secret Wars has just received confirmation of a character who will certainly bring a much more brutal tone to the multiversal epic.

After years of fan requests and much behind-the-scenes speculation, Marvel’s most relentless anti-hero will finally make his debut in an Avengers film: Jon Bernthal‘s Punisher!

Filming for the feature that promises to close out the Multiverse Saga is expected to begin between July and August of this year in UK studios. According to insider James Mack, Frank Castle will be in the movie, finally consolidating the character’s transition from the Netflix “urban” universe to Marvel Studios’ major cinematic events.

Punisher will be in Avengers: Secret Wars

Jon Bernthal’s journey as the Punisher is experiencing a true rebirth in 2026. Before joining Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in late 2027, the character will make his official theatrical debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which hits the big screen in July of this year.

The relationship between the vigilante and Tom Holland‘s Peter Parker is expected to serve as the necessary fuel to carry Frank Castle into the events of Secret Wars.

In addition to his film appearances, the character will also star in a Disney+ Special Presentation titled The Punisher: One Last Kill, which is set to premiere in May or June.

Jon Bernthal himself confirmed in recent interviews that the character’s tone will remain dark and violent, ensuring that the Punisher will “walk straight from the Spider-Man set to his own special” without losing his essence.

The Punisher among Deities and Mutants

We know that Secret Wars is expected to be a sort of Endgame multiplied by ten, gathering heroes from all eras and possible realities – including rumors about the return of X-Men and Fantastic Four variants.

Having a character like the Punisher in this mix is, at the very least, unusual and fascinating. While heroes like Thor or Doctor Strange deal with cosmic and mystical threats, Frank Castle brings the “man on the ground” perspective, utilizing much less diplomatic methods to survive the collapse of the multiverse.
