Elliot Page Responds to X-Men Reboot Casting Rumors

The ongoing speculation about which actors will join the new X-Men reboot film has reached one of the franchise’s veterans. Elliot Page, who previously played the mutant Kitty Pryde in the Fox films, recently commented on the fan-casting rumors circulating for the new Marvel Cinematic Universe installment.

Page confirmed the actor does not actively track the rumors but offered his enthusiastic approval for the fan community’s suggestions.

Speaking at New York Comic Con, Page was supportive of the idea of a completely new cast taking on the iconic roles. The actor confirmed he does not “really follow [the casting rumors]”, but immediately added, “[the fancasts] sound fantastic.”

Page expressed genuine excitement about the franchise moving forward with fresh talent and new ideas. “I mean, it’d be just so exciting to see people do a take on a new iteration [of X-Men],” the actor stated.

This sentiment echoes the idea that the X-Men reboot, which is reportedly set to launch the new “Mutant Saga” in May 2028, needs a clean creative slate.

While many legacy actors are rumored to return for the multiversal crossover films, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, Page’s comments suggest that the core reboot should focus on developing a new, contemporary team to anchor the next era of the MCU.
