Hawkeye Series Remains Without Plans to Return
I mean, it’s not like anyone’s really been missing it anyway, right...

The possibility of a Hawkeye Season 2 has come up again recently, but not because of a major push from fans.
Four years after the show premiered on Disney+, new behind-the-scenes comments make it clear that the project is not a priority for Marvel and that any return, if it happens at all, is nowhere near happening soon.
1/5 – Conversations happened, but didn’t move forward
In a recent interview with The Direct, Wonder Man showrunner Andrew Guest briefly talked about his experience as a consulting producer on Hawkeye.
When asked about a possible second season, Guest was straightforward: there were creative conversations, but they never progressed.
According to him, some ideas were explored, but the project stalled before entering any real development.
2/5 – “The timing didn’t work”
Guest explained that the main issue wasn’t a lack of interest, but rather scheduling conflicts and shifting priorities within Marvel Studios.
In his words, “the timing didn’t work,” considering all the factors that would need to align to make a new season possible.
Even so, he made a point of expressing his affection for the show and praised the chemistry between Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld, saying he would love to see more stories featuring the duo.
3/5 – The team did discuss some ideas
This isn’t the first time details about a possible continuation have surfaced.
Jeremy Renner had previously said that a potential Season 2 would keep the holiday setting, which became one of the show’s defining traits.
At the time, rumors even suggested some Die Hard inspiration, reinforcing the lighter, more episodic tone that helped Hawkeye stand out from other MCU projects.
4/5 – Conflicting signals behind the scenes
Things get even more confusing when you remember that, just a few months ago, Renner publicly said that talks for Season 2 were back on track, especially after his recovery from the serious snowplow accident in 2023.
That shift in tone raised fans’ hopes, but Guest’s more recent comments suggest that, at least for now, nothing is moving forward in any concrete way.
5/5 – An uncertain future
In the end, Hawkeye’s situation seems to reflect the current moment at Marvel Studios: less urgency to renew series and more caution about what actually moves ahead.
This doesn’t amount to an official cancellation, but it does make it clear that Season 2 isn’t a priority right now and may never happen.
