Forgotten No More: Marvel’s Long-Lost Spider-Man Villain Finally Returns to the MCU!
Marvel Studios has finally decided to dust off one of its forgotten villains — and fans are losing it! The MCU has a long history of setting up characters only to leave them hanging for years. Sometimes those teases pay off… it just takes a really long time.
This time, the spotlight is on a villain who once swore revenge against Spider-Man. For years, fans have speculated about his comeback in every Tom Holland film. Well, after nearly a decade of waiting, he’s officially back — and we’re talking about Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Who’s the forgotten villain making his comeback?
As previously reported, Michael Mando is returning as Mac Gargan, better known to Marvel Comics fans as The Scorpion. The actor first appeared briefly in Spider-Man: Homecoming back in 2017, where his character faced off against the web-slinger — and later confronted the Vulture in the post-credits scene, asking if he knew Spider-Man’s true identity.
That was eight years ago! Now, Mando is back, as seen in fresh behind-the-scenes photos from Spider-Man 4. Interestingly, his character seems to be wearing the exact same prison uniform from Homecoming. Check it out:

Because of his shaved head and the identical outfit, some fans believe this could be a flashback sequence. Others think it’s just Mac Gargan’s signature look — or maybe prison fashion just hasn’t changed much in the MCU!
Either way, everyone’s eager for a first look at Scorpion’s full suit, which could finally bring a comic-accurate version of the villain to life.
Until that reveal, stay tuned — Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to be one of the most exciting entries in Tom Holland’s Spidey saga yet.
