Marvel’s Blade From Arkane Lyon Reportedly Targeting 2027 Release

Arkane Lyon's upcoming Marvel's Blade game is now in full production, with industry reports targeting a 2027 release for the mature, single-player title set in Paris.

Arkane Lyon’s Marvel’s Blade is now in full production, with financial reports pointing to a 2027 release window. The studio confirmed the project moved beyond pre-production in late 2024, after more than a year of early development.

The game will be a mature, single-player experience in third-person. That marks a major change for Arkane Lyon, best known for first-person titles like Deathloop and the Dishonored series. It’s being built on an updated version of the studio’s Void Engine.

Set in a quarantined district of Paris, the story follows Eric Brooks—the Daywalker himself. The first trailer, unveiled at The Game Awards in December 2023, showed Blade in a barber shop as an air-raid siren triggered a citywide lockdown. A voice over a loudspeaker warned: “Attention, the sun is currently setting. All citizens are required to shelter indoors until dawn.”

Possible Release Date

Previously, industry insider Jeff Grubb mentioned the 2027 target during the Xboxera podcast. The timeline fits with the game’s production schedule, making a launch in the next couple of years realistic. Despite Arkane being part of Microsoft, Blade is planned for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5—reflecting Microsoft’s recent multiplatform strategy.

Marvel Games VP and creative director Bill Rosemann called the partnership a “perfect fit” and praised Arkane Lyon for “continually push[ing] the boundaries of game design and innovation.” Co-creative and art director Sebastien Mitton added that the project is “the perfect opportunity to push Arkane’s art style into an even more modern and bold territory.”

After the 2023 reveal, the studio went quiet. Now, with production underway, fans are looking to The Game Awards in December 2025 for a possible new trailer or gameplay debut.
