The strategy makes sense: Marvel would take advantage of the hype around the Spider-Man movie's release to further boost promotion for the Avengers film. It's worth remembering that Marvel used a different strategy with the film's 4 previous teasers, released between December and January. They were shown during screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash, and only made it to the internet a week later. This time, the trailer was kept exclusive to the event.
