But after the villain Kang received a poor reception in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the actor was fired shortly afterward, Marvel then reworked the film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result, at Comic-Con 2024 the studio announced the return of Robert Downey Jr. in the role of Doctor Doom. And with the film now titled Avengers: Doctor Doom \u2013 making it perhaps the biggest announcement in Marvel\u2019s history.<\/p><div class=\"banner banner--content\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-9014371380271401\"     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><!-- Marvel (Na Mat\u00e9ria) | HTML --><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"     style=\"display:inline-block;width:300px;height:250px\"     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9014371380271401\"     data-ad-slot=\"4293518781\"><\/ins><script>     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});<\/script><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On that same day, it was also revealed that directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, known as the Russo Brothers \u2013 responsible for Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame \u2013 are returning to direct the film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside them, the co-writer of the last Avengers films, Stephen McFeely, also returned and is writing the movie alongside Michael Waldron (from Season 1 of Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness).
