It is one of next year&#8217;s most anticipated blockbusters, yet recent news reveals the film will be shut out of the world&#8217;s biggest theaters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IMAX network, known for its massive screens and advanced sound systems, provides the ultimate viewing experience. Unfortunately, their nearly 1,800 theaters worldwide will not show <em>Spider-Man 4<\/em>.. The new Marvel and Sony film is completely missing from the 2026 IMAX release calendar, and the reason is a major scheduling conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Nolan&#8217;s New Film is Bumping Spider-Man<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The reason for the snub is another massive film: <strong>The Odyssey, the new movie from director Christopher Nolan (Interstellar, Oppenheimer)<\/strong>. The studio scheduled <em>The Odyssey<\/em> for release just two weeks before <em>Spider-Man 4<\/em>. And curiously, the film also stars Tom Holland and Zendaya.<\/p><div class=\"banner banner--content\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-9014371380271401\"     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><!-- Marvel (Na Mat\u00e9ria) | HTML --><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"     style=\"display:inline-block;width:300px;height:250px\"     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9014371380271401\"     data-ad-slot=\"4293518781\"><\/ins><script>     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});<\/script><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Nolan\u2019s new film has secured an extended exclusivity window for all IMAX screens. This exclusivity directly prevents<em> Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em> from releasing in that format.. This decision stems from Nolan&#8217;s own deep history with the company, as he was a key figure in popularizing the IMAX format for feature films.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A History of Loyalty<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Nolan has been shooting his films for IMAX since his Batman movies. Back when the cameras were giant, heavy, and loud. For <em>The Odyssey<\/em>, he reportedly filmed the entire movie in the format, guaranteeing its exclusive run in those premium theaters for several weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IMAX has confirmed, however, that <a href=\"Avengers: Doomsday\">Avengers: Doomsday<\/a> <em>will<\/em> receive an IMAX release when it premieres in December 2026.
