Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled to hit theaters in December, will break the record for the most heroes in a Marvel movie, including Doctor Strange.
The character played by Benedict Cumberbatch has been missing from the MCU since 2022, when the controversial Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premiered.
However, the character was never confirmed by Marvel in the film’s cast. That is because, according to multiple sources, he will only make a brief cameo.
And since he only has one scene, Marvel thought it best not to announce him for the movie, as it could be considered a spoiler. By the way, beware of major spoilers in the upcoming paragraphs.
Avengers: Doomsday will have an important scene with Doctor Strange!
Although the character only has one scene, it will be a crucial moment. According to the portal Murphy’s Multiverse, Marvel took every precaution during filming to prevent leaks. However, it seems it was to no avail.
According to the source, the film will reveal the Council of Doom, a group of masked characters who support the villain Doctor Doom.
The plot will reveal some of them towards the end of the movie. And one of them will be Doctor Strange himself. According to the source, he will be wearing an outfit and mask typical of Latveria, Doctor Doom’s home country. His mask, however, will feature an opening for his third eye, a trait he acquired at the end of Multiverse of Madness.
Why will Strange join Doom?
Avengers: Doomsday promises many twists, but this one involving Doctor Strange might not be so surprising after all. That is because, in the most recent Secret Wars comic book arc, the character did indeed side with the villain.
Adopting the title “Sheriff of Agamotto,” Strange sides with Doctor Doom because he believes he is the only one who can save the multiverse from total collapse. By all indications, the movies will follow a similar path.
