The distinct look marks a new transformation for the character, something fans have been asking for for many years. After spending some time appearing as Professor Hulk, the production will use the grey color to highlight a much more aggressive and savage personality.

Furthermore, the color change harks back to the hero’s debut in the comics in 1962, before he turned green due to printing errors. This throwback signals to the audience that this new version of the giant will be much more implacable, cunning, and dangerous than the traditional Hulk.

Lastly, with the book leaking before the movie’s release later this month, fans get the first official confirmation that Marvel Studios is finally expected to explore this iconic variant of Bruce Banner in theaters.

Everything about Spider-Man: Brand New Day

According to strong rumors, The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) is protecting Jean Grey (Sadie Sink). The presence of the mutant puts both characters on a collision course that promises to test the moral boundaries of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

Under the direction of Destin Daniel Cretton, the feature film abandons multiversal threats to focus on a raw and grounded street-level narrative. In the feature film, we will have a more mature Peter Parker dealing with the underworld of organized crime in the city.

In addition to Tom Holland as Spider-Man, the cast also features Michael Mando as Scorpion, alongside Zendaya (MJ) and Jacob Batalon (Ned). Mark Ruffalo also reprises his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk, next to Marvin Jones III as Tombstone.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
