Spider-Man 4’s First Trailer Hit With Disappointing Update

The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day may take longer than expected to be officially released, increasing fans’ anticipation.

Anyone hoping for quick updates on Spider-Man: Brand New Day may need to practice a bit more patience. Nearly a month after the film’s trailer leaked, there is still no clear sign of when the official version will be released to the public.

Recent excitement cooled off after a report from Deadline. Sony Pictures does not plan to show the first trailer during the Super Bowl, scheduled for next Sunday, a date traditionally used for major movie preview debuts.

The decision is not exactly out of character. The studio typically avoids this kind of showcase, although many fans believed the strategy might change this time since the promotional material is reportedly ready.

A packed schedule may have played a role

The period leading up to the Super Bowl usually brings a wave of major announcements. Just this week, productions like Michael and Scream 7 have already released their trailers. Others are expected in the coming days, increasing the competition for attention.

In that context, holding back the trailer debut could be a way to keep the new Spider-Man from sharing the spotlight with heavyweight competitors. Even as a powerful brand, releasing multiple trailers at once rarely benefits any production.

Because of this, the chances are growing that the first official footage will arrive only in the second half of February. Even so, past patterns suggest the wait could be longer.

March enters the picture

When Spider-Man: No Way Home hit theaters, its first trailer had been released in late August 2021, less than four months before the premiere. If the new film follows a similar timeline, the preview may not appear until the end of March.

Another factor supports this possibility. Project Hail Mary, also from Sony Pictures, premieres on March 19. Attaching the hero’s trailer to its screenings would be a direct way to boost ticket sales, especially since it is an original film that could benefit from that kind of association.

For now, the situation remains uncertain. What does seem clear is that audiences will have to wait a little longer to see the first official images from the next chapter of Spider-Man in theaters. Do you like this personality?
