Spider-Man 4 Trailer Delayed Again, Gets New Release Window

Spider-Man 4, also known as Brand New Day, is Marvel’s next major release, but its official trailer has been delayed once again.

Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is Marvel Studios’ next major theatrical release, marking another collaboration between the studio and Sony. In these cases, Sony Pictures is fully in charge of marketing and distribution.

That means Sony is responsible for the film’s trailers, often using promotional strategies that differ from Marvel and Disney’s usual approach. Naturally, the two companies still coordinate closely to align their schedules and overall plans.

This helps explain why the Spider-Man 4 trailer didn’t arrive last month. Marvel surprised fans by releasing four Avengers: Doomsday teasers over four consecutive weeks.

To avoid direct competition with Doomsday’s marketing push, Sony reportedly delayed the Spider-Man 4 trailer to January. As we can see now, that plan changed again, and the trailer was pushed back once more, even though it has reportedly been finished for quite some time.

Spider-Man 4: when will the official trailer be released?

The trailer is ready and could drop at any moment. Many fans believe it may debut during the Super Bowl, which is less than two weeks away.

However, the NFL’s championship game could instead be used to unveil a new Avengers: Doomsday trailer, possibly highlighting Doctor Doom. It’s very unlikely that both trailers would premiere during the same event.

Another possibility is that Sony releases the Spider-Man 4 trailer a few days after the Super Bowl, taking advantage of a Sony Pictures Animation theatrical release scheduled for February 12.

Still, we’re leaning toward a more pessimistic scenario. There’s a real chance Sony won’t release the trailer online until March.

Why do we think that? Sony released the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home in August 2021, roughly four months before the movie’s premiere. If they follow a similar timeline, the Brand New Day trailer would arrive in March.

Either way, the trailer is on the way.
